I think that what makes a good photo is the subject. Also I think that you also depends on the weather. For example if you have cold and rainy weather than that could make the picture good or bad. And an important key to having a good photo is that you see a rule of photography in your photo. As in the pictures above, they both have a rule of photography. Like the professional portrait has the rule of lines that make a path to the subject. And in the self portrait I see the rule of thirds. I see it because if you were to divide the picture 3x3 and drew a circle were the boxes intersect than her face would be in the middle if the circle. And last but not least I think that what makes a good photo is the photographer. Now I know I say that a lot but this is because some students have more experience than other students,and some students know the camera better or some just have more knowledge about photography.
